In this COIL Conversation, Dr. Antonenko joins us virtually to discuss the pros and cons of using cognitive neuroscience frameworks and methods relative to the study of learning and personalization of education. These frameworks include Electroencephalography (EEG), functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) and eye tracking. The focus on the study of learning as a process will be supported by discussing results of recent empirical studies that have used cognitive neuroscience methods and tools to explore educational research questions.
Pavlo “Pasha” Antonenko is an Associate Professor of Educational Technology in the School of Teaching and Learning at the University of Florida. His research interests include design and study of technology-enhanced learning environments and the use of neurotechnologies to understand the mechanisms of attention and cognition during learning.
