Originally Held: August 12, 2016

One of the critical factors to student success in any learning format is the skill and faculty of the instructor. Regardless of the title, the leader of the educational experience plays a key role in guiding, managing, and directing student learning. Meeting the continual and life long professional development needs of faculty requires attention to the needs and characteristics of these individuals. Designing, developing, and delivering faculty development programming demands innovation, creativity, and a constantly evolving set of strategies.

Considering the demands placed on instructors in a rapidly evolving teaching and learning ecosystem, professional development and growth is necessary throughout the career life of the instructional professional. This interactive and hands-on workshop, will generate new techniques and methods, models, and approaches for faculty developers to serve the professional development needs of today’s instructor.

This workshop features Guest Faculty Laurence B. Boggess, Director of Online Faculty Development, Penn State World Campus, Penn State University and is moderated by Lawrence C. Ragan, Co-Director, The Center for Online Innovation in Learning (COIL) and The Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning (IELOL).

The collaborative Google Doc created during this session can be accessed at https://goo.gl/EwxG4D.
